Job summary

This hands-on Senior Staff engineering role builds a Kubernetes-based platform that turns large-scale physical compute into reliable, isolated infrastructure for customer AI training and inference workloads. The role combines production software development and technical leadership, including building APIs, controllers, operators, reconciliation loops, and infrastructure abstractions, while applying distributed-systems principles to platform stability, availability, and recovery.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience designing, implementing, testing, shipping, and maintaining production software.
  • Kubernetes platform experience with operators, controllers, CRDs, admission control, node lifecycle, and cluster services.
  • Practical distributed-systems knowledge, including consensus, leader election, eventual consistency, reconciliation, fault domains, and recovery.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including design reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, staged rollouts, rollbacks, observability, and incident learning.
  • Experience delivering Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, or infrastructure control planes as commercially critical or externally consumed products is valued but not required.
  • Substantive hands-on experience with coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code is valued.
  • Experience supporting AI workloads or commercializing GPU clusters, with an understanding of large-scale accelerator infrastructure challenges.
  • Experience with inference platforms, accelerator or GPU infrastructure, device plugins, cloud infrastructure, or customer-facing platform products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build platform APIs, controllers, operators, reconciliation loops, and infrastructure abstractions.
  • Write, review, test, debug, and operate production software while providing technical leadership.
  • Build production-grade Kubernetes services for dedicated customers running large-scale AI training and inference workloads.
  • Apply distributed-systems principles to partial failure, retries, concurrency, consistency, idempotency, availability, and recovery.
  • Design stable platform APIs and contracts that decouple customer experiences from backend infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate across infrastructure, inference, networking, and information security teams to deliver production systems.
