Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in the UK or Ireland. The role involves leading technical initiatives across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and CI/CD systems while improving developer productivity and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or software engineering
• Proficiency with Python and Java
• Deep Kubernetes and container orchestration knowledge
• Proven CI/CD and GitOps experience
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform)
• Strong AWS and cloud-native experience
• Experience operating distributed, high-availability systems
• Ability to influence without authority and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Drive technical design and delivery of core platform capabilities
• Architect, build, and operate cloud-native platforms on AWS
• Lead evolution of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Build and maintain internal platform services and tooling
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation practices
• Partner with application teams to unblock delivery
• Lead complex, cross-team initiatives
• Improve operational excellence through observability and automation
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations
