Staff Site Reliability Engineer- Developer Platform

Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate infrastructure for firmware build pipelines. The role involves collaborating with teams to enhance DevOps culture and improve developer experience through innovative tools and practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform
• Understanding of Kubernetes internals and architectures
• Experience implementing GitOps workflows
• Strong automation and scripting skills
• Experience with major Cloud Service Providers
• Experience maintaining and optimizing CI pipelines
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Comfortable in a collaborative environment
• Willingness to mentor peers

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure components
• Manage AWS footprint for availability and cost efficiency
• Define Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns
• Develop and optimize Kubernetes operators and controllers
• Build automated security controls and policy-as-code
• Identify friction points and improve developer experience
• Support mid-level and junior engineers
