Job summary
Designs, builds, deploys, and operates software, developer tools, and infrastructure supporting Firefox engineering. The role addresses operational challenges across cloud and software systems, improving reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency while contributing to CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools. It also uses telemetry and metrics to guide engineering decisions and establish solutions that can be reused across teams.

Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with C++ or Rust is useful
- Experience building, deploying, and operating production systems in cloud environments
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform
- Experience in areas such as CI/CD, containers and orchestration, networking, databases, observability, or developer tooling
- Experience using data, telemetry, and metrics to investigate technical problems and make decisions
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate software and systems supporting Firefox engineering
- Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools
- Solve complex problems across software, cloud, and operational layers
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and IT teams
- Use telemetry, metrics, and data analysis to investigate problems and guide decisions
- Contribute to architecture and technical strategy
- Identify recurring problems and develop solutions for use across teams
- Contribute to the open-source ecosystem
