Qualifications
- Engineering student in a generalist field, early in the program (Bac+3/4).
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of virtualization.
- Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Compare Linux distributions for office and operational use, including usability, compatibility, security, and maintenance.
- Identify the technical and functional impacts of migrating from Windows to Linux.
- Evaluate alternatives to Windows software, including office suites and business applications.
- Assess options for running Windows applications on Linux using Wine or virtualization.
- Set up a reference Linux workstation and test application compatibility.
- Evaluate deployment, maintenance, and user-support requirements.
