Job summary

This internship evaluates KOMET, an experimental verification tool that extracts behavioral models from Kubernetes operators written in Go. The work focuses on documenting the tool, finding and reproducing operator bugs reported on GitHub, developing behavioral properties and experimental scenarios, and reporting evaluation results in the context of Kubernetes and Telco Cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Programming experience with Golang and Python
• Experience with Linux, Git, and open-source development
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to analyze code and create data or log analysis scripts
• Technical English proficiency, including reading documentation
• Knowledge of formal methods or specification languages is an advantage
• Experience with a model-checking solver is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Document KOMET's interface for defining properties
• Automate reproduction of bugs detected in Kubernetes operators
• Search GitHub for operator bug reports
• Develop experimental scenarios to reproduce collected bugs
• Define and implement behavioral properties related to collected bugs
• Write the evaluation campaign report
