Job summary

Quantum Research International, Inc. is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support and maintain on-premises Windows Server and Hyper V infrastructure, while transitioning services into AWS Cloud.

Qualifications

  • Effective communicator in writing and presentations.
  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance and eligibility for Top Secret and SCI.
  • Minimum of five years of experience, with three years in specialized roles.
  • At least two years of experience in technical documentation.
  • Maintain appropriate DoDI 8570.01-M certification.
  • MS degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • PhD may substitute for two additional years of experience.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs and secure configurations.
  • Strong understanding of the system lifecycle.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex issues.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and identify solutions.
  • Experience with KPIs and service level metrics.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Cloud services.
  • Ability to isolate issues across software and hardware.
  • Operational support for Hyper V and Windows Server.
  • Experience managing Active Directory and identity services.
  • Experience maintaining server and storage devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Cybersecurity Hardening for Windows Server environments and AWS cloud workloads.
  • Administer and maintain Hyper V hosts and virtual machines.
  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and Microsoft enterprise services.
  • Manage server and storage hardware, including monitoring and patching.
  • Troubleshoot issues across software, firmware, hardware, networks, and operating systems.
  • Maintain compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Participate in cloud migration planning and execution.
  • Support Kubernetes environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and configuration baselines.
  • Participate in capacity planning for infrastructure.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and documentation.
  • Create automation scripts for administrative tasks.
  • Work independently on tickets and projects.
  • Write and edit technical materials and assist project teams.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess IT/network configurations.
  • Prepare implementation plans and technical design packages.
  • Assist in development of Risk Management Framework documentation.
  • Perform network and information system installation efforts.
