System Analyst – SRE (BASE24 / Payment Switching)

Job summary

Supports and improves high-volume, high-availability card payment systems in banking and payments technology, focusing on BASE24 Classic and/or BASE24-eps platforms and site reliability. The role covers production incident management, root-cause analysis, SQL-based transaction and settlement investigations, database performance tuning, and system integration, testing, release management, and production readiness across payment schemes and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant experience in production or application support, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure support for card payment technology environments.
• At least 8 years of experience in banking and payments technology.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience supporting BASE24 or BASE24-eps.
• Strong experience in ATM acquiring, debit card authorization, and payment switching environments.
• Strong understanding of ISO8583 message processing and the end-to-end card transaction lifecycle.
• Experience supporting 24x7, high-volume, high-availability production systems and critical incidents.
• Experience with Visa, Mastercard, UAE Switch, and related scheme integrations or certifications.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, security controls, high availability and disaster recovery, RTO/RPO, performance, and capacity management.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and payment schemes.

Responsibilities

• Provide production, application, and infrastructure support for card payment technology environments.
• Support BASE24 Classic and/or BASE24-eps authorization processing, transaction routing, switch configuration, network interfaces, and settlement processing.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and performance-tuning scripts.
• Investigate transactions, reconciliation reports, authorization traces, and settlement data using SQL.
• Conduct requirements analysis, impact assessments, system integration, SIT/UAT, release management, and production-readiness activities.
• Support Visa, Mastercard, UAE Switch, and related scheme integrations or certifications.
