Job summary
As a System Engineer Kubernetes, you will actively shape and operate highly critical platforms for digital traffic control in Germany. You will be responsible for the full-stack operation of Kubernetes platforms, automating processes, ensuring security, and continuously developing systems within a modern, automated environment. You will contribute ideas and collaborate with the team to create secure, stable, and future-proof complex systems.

Qualifications
- Completed degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, or comparable education with several years of professional experience
- Profound experience in the conception, setup, and operation of on-premise Kubernetes environments
- Good knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies, Storage solutions, or Logging stacks
- Solid knowledge of Linux system administration
- Ideally, experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD)
- Interest in comprehensive security of Kubernetes environments and a Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification
- Willingness to participate in on-call duty
- Very good German (C1) and good English language skills, both written and spoken
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage full-stack Kubernetes platforms, from containerized applications to underlying infrastructure (RKE2, CEPH, Linux-based VMs)
- Automate recurring processes and continuously develop operational procedures
- Secure Kubernetes environments according to current security standards
- Perform deployments and ensure stable operation and continuous development of the platform through Day-2 Operations
- Implement GitOps approaches and use tools like ArgoCD for automation, maintenance, and development of existing platforms
- Actively participate in the modernization and expansion of the Kubernetes environment and contribute optimization ideas
- Handle incidents within defined SLAs and support partners and suppliers with operational challenges
