Job summary

System Test Engineer position for 18 months in Berlin, focusing on automated and manual testing, test suite development, and process automation.

Qualifications

• completed degree in computer science or a comparable field or technical training with relevant professional experience
• relevant professional experience in SRE or test engineering roles
• knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (preferably Python)
• proven experience in test automation, including development and maintenance of functional, integration, and end-to-end test suites
• experience with performance and load testing tools like k6 or Gatling
• basic knowledge in building and operating CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI for automating build, test, and deployment processes
• familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and practical experience with Terraform
• very good German and/or English skills (at least C1) and willingness to be on call (24/7)

Responsibilities

• conduct automated and targeted manual tests
• develop and maintain automated test suites (functional, integration, performance, reliability)
• plan and design tests including test plans, effort estimates, and risk assessments
• create and maintain test cases and test scenarios
• automate operational and testing processes
• perform load, stress, and chaos engineering tests to identify weaknesses
• collaborate closely with developers and ensure operation of highly available Kubernetes clusters
