Job summary

The Bundesdruckerei-Gruppe is looking for a System Test Engineer in the SRE environment for their Berlin location. This role involves conducting automated and manual tests, developing and maintaining automated test suites, and planning and conceptualizing tests. The position is temporary for 18 months.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in computer science or a comparable field, or technical training with relevant professional experience in a similar position
• Relevant professional experience in SRE or test engineering roles
• Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (preferably Python)
• Proven experience in test automation, including developing and maintaining functional, integration, and end-to-end test suites
• Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6 or Gatling
• Basic knowledge of building and operating CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI for automating build, test, and deployment processes
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and practical experience with Terraform
• Very good German and/or English language skills (at least C1)

Responsibilities

• Conduct automated and targeted manual tests
• Develop and maintain automated test suites (functional, integration, performance, and reliability)
• Plan and conceptualize tests including test plans, effort estimates, and risk assessments
• Create and maintain test cases and test scenarios
• Automate operational and test processes
• Perform load, stress, and chaos engineering tests to identify vulnerabilities
• Collaborate closely with developers and ensure the operation of highly available Kubernetes clusters as part of SRE activities
