Systems Administrator (Linux/Unix)

Job summary

As a Systems Administrator at Visa, you will support critical applications and ensure service stability through maintenance activities, automation, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Six months of Unix/Linux system administration or containers experience preferred
• Scripting knowledge/experience in Python
• Knowledge of cloud platforms preferred
• Basic understanding of ITIL v4 processes
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Self-motivated with independent judgment
• Coordinate activities within cross-divisional teams
• Understand and adopt project management techniques
• Be scheduled on-call to support infrastructure and systems

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure operations and production support of container technologies
• Deployment, configuration, scaling, and management of containerized applications
• Contribute to automation and self-service patterns
• OpenShift Enterprise support
• Work with tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem
• Utilize configuration management tools
• Share technical and customer knowledge
• Partner with Platform, Engineering, and Delivery Teams
• Conduct security remediation processes
• Standardize and document operational procedures
• Adhere to established ITIL practices
