Tech Lead Platform Engineering

Job summary

As a Tech Lead Platform Engineering, you will own the technical direction of the platform team, ensuring operational excellence and guiding the migration of workloads to Kubernetes while coaching engineers and maintaining high standards in code quality.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on experience as a platform engineer, infrastructure engineer, or DevOps lead
• Deep Kubernetes experience with a platform-as-product mindset
• Hybrid, multi-cluster experience across cloud and on-prem
• Proficient in GitOps and infrastructure as code
• Understanding of platform security fundamentals
• Experience with observability practices
• Ability to provide technical leadership without formal management
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of the platform within its architecture and ensure technical quality
• Build and review code for the hybrid Kubernetes platform
• Set standards for code review, testing, and operational readiness
• Ensure operational excellence: SLOs, observability, reliability, and incident learning
• Design golden paths and self-service for app teams
• Plan and sequence migration of workloads from VMs to Kubernetes
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to drive adoption
• Coach and unblock engineers, sharing knowledge
