Job summary

Technical Lead Automation Engineer PLC responsible for automation developments and guiding technologies from concept to market launch.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in developing complex PLC software for machines or systems
• Proficient with Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell Automation Studio
• Experience in designing modular and reusable software architectures
• Solid knowledge in safety PLC programming, visualization, motion control, drive and control technology
• Strong understanding of modern development and testing methods
• Familiarity with industrial communication solutions and tools like Git and Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of unit tests, digital twins, structured text, or other programming languages is a plus

Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for automation developments
• Guide new machines from concept to market launch
• Design modular PLC software architectures
• Develop reusable solutions with Siemens and Rockwell
• Implement and document new functions for control, visualization, motion control, and drive technology
• Integrate risk analysis results into safety software according to DIN EN ISO 13849
• Plan and execute verification and validation of new developments
• Analyze technological requirements and test results
• Derive innovative solutions and continuous improvements
• Collaborate closely with design, product management, project management, and other R&D departments
