Job summary

Build real-time links between robot sites and operator stations, streaming multiple camera feeds and robot state while returning control commands over the public internet. The role owns latency measurement and optimization, resilient networking, operator interfaces and fleet tools, and synchronized on-site recording and transfer of teleoperation data. Relevant technologies include WebRTC, RTP/SRTP, QUIC/UDP, Linux, and TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, or Python.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years building production real-time networked systems, such as video streaming, video conferencing, cloud gaming, remote desktop, or live broadcast.
  • Hands-on experience with low-latency media transport and video encoding trade-offs.
  • Experience measuring and reducing latency in a production system.
  • Ability to build polished web or native interfaces with strong product instincts.
  • Strong skills in at least one of TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, or Python, with familiarity across client, server, and edge devices.
  • Experience deploying and debugging software on remote Linux machines.

Responsibilities

  • Build real-time transport for video, robot state, and control commands between robot sites and operator stations.
  • Measure and optimize end-to-end video and command-to-motion latency.
  • Improve link reliability through NAT traversal, congestion and packet-loss handling, bandwidth adaptation, reconnection, and quality indicators.
  • Build operator interfaces for camera views, robot status, task instructions, connection quality, and episode workflows.
  • Develop operator queueing, session handoff, and fleet-visibility tools.
  • Record synchronized streams and metadata on-site, buffer locally, and upload reliably over constrained networks.
  • Build infrastructure for storing and accessing robot teleoperation episodes.
