Test Automation Engineer (10-Month Term)

Job summary

The Test Automation Engineer at Red River Mutual will lead the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and scripts for Guidewire and other enterprise applications. Responsibilities include designing automated tests, integrating them into the CI/CD pipeline, and mentoring team members to ensure application functionality and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in software test automation
• At least 2 years of focus on Guidewire required
• College or University degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in Agile test automation design and development
• Knowledge of insurance domain and Guidewire InsuranceSuite
• Strong understanding of software development and QA methodologies
• Experience with Jira, Rally, Point, and Teams
• Hands-on experience with Automation, API, Cucumber, BDD, CI/CD, Gherkin, Selenium, Karate, and Test Café
• Familiarity with Guidewire applications and test automation frameworks
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Playwright
• Understanding of CI/CD tools like Bitbucket or Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing
• Experience with API Automation Testing using XML/JSON, SOAP API, REST API
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI
• Experience with test management tools like qTest, HP ALM, or Zephyr

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks for Guidewire and enterprise applications
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts
• Execute automated test scripts and report defects
• Troubleshoot issues related to test automation
• Create and manage test data for testing scenarios
• Conduct regression testing
• Validate data flows between systems
• Estimate and plan work allocation for QA automation
• Generate reports and documentation for test results
• Evaluate and integrate new testing tools
• Develop best practices for test automation
• Mentor junior automation engineers
• Conduct code reviews for automated test scripts
• Provide training on automation tools and techniques
