Job summary

VDOT is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to implement, configure, manage, and provide guidance on cloud infrastructure in VDOT's Azure environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about maintaining a secure and stable Azure environment, comfortable with guiding others, and providing guidance to management and upper leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience providing guidance on the implementation of resources, networking, and security policy in Azure
• Experience implementing, maintaining, and monitoring Azure resources
• Experience working in mission-critical enterprise environments
• Experience overseeing backup and disaster recovery operations
• Experience planning and executing cloud migrations
• Experience moving workloads from on-premises to the cloud
• Comfortable working with multiple frameworks and technologies including .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience providing support and troubleshooting issues for production applications
• Experience working with security tools such as Tenable to manage vulnerability remediation
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Workbooks, and Alerts for monitoring dashboards and alerting
• Experience crafting disaster recovery plans to ensure minimal downtime and prevent data loss
• Strong networking knowledge, including OSI layer functionality and network protocols
• Eight years of experience implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and providing guidance on resources and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
• Eight years of experience planning and executing migrations from on-premises environments to Azure
• Eight years of experience working in mission-critical enterprise environments and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Eight years of experience implementing networking and security policies in Azure
• Eight years of experience using Azure Monitor for alerting, observability, and dashboards
• Eight years of experience with vulnerability remediation and working on security initiatives
