VMware Cloud Architect

Job summary

Spektrum is seeking a VMware Cloud Architect to provide expert guidance and hands-on coordination for the design, validation, and implementation of a large-scale enterprise private cloud for NATO.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VMware vCF 5; working knowledge of vCF 9 preferred.
• Experience designing or validating NSX-T software-defined networking.
• Familiarity with Cisco ACI in a multi-site context.
• Experience with Backup and Recovery solutions.
• Experience with Security by design in private cloud environments.
• Direct experience with PAM implementation.
• Understanding of PKI design and certificate management.
• Solid understanding of Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, vCF Automation.
• Experience supporting the adoption of IaaC practices.
• Ability to produce and maintain ADRs and architecture review reports.
• Experience coordinating across security, infrastructure, and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate design documents for the private air-gapped cloud.
• Provide design guidance to infrastructure and platform teams.
• Define and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs).
• Define and specify Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Ensure interfaces are designed with security and automation in mind.
• Maintain an interface register and track ICD sign-off.
• Coordinate design and implementation efforts between teams.
• Validate and guide implementation of infrastructure automation.
• Define the automation and IaaC target operating model.
• Advise on transition to an automation-first operating model.
• Support upskilling of cloud operating teams in automation.
