My DevOps Journey: From SysOps to DevOps I started my career in SysOps, where I was responsible for managing server infrastructure, monitoring system health, and ensuring uptime. My work primarily involved maintaining networks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. As the shift toward cloud computing grew, I began learning AWS, starting with basic tasks like EC2 instance provisioning and managing S3 storage. Over time, I incorporated AWS CloudFormation and Ansible to automate infrastructure deployment, significantly improving operational efficiency. The move into DevOps came naturally, as I began working with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, containerization through Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes (which I might’ve mispronounced once or twice!). These tools helped me automate deployments and manage scalable applications in a cloud-native environment. This transition has changed the way I approach IT operations. Today, I focus on automation, continuous delivery, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability and performance. I still encounter the occasional hiccup, but I’m now equipped to handle complex infrastructure challenges and deliver reliable, efficient solutions.
