I have experience in all of the major cloud providers; Azure, AWS, Google Compute. To switch from one cloud dialect to another, especially if Terraform is used to manage IaaC is relatively straightforward for me, even if it is not my most recent. Similarly I have worked in bare metal, on-premise cloud, public cloud, and private cloud, so a change of setting is no big deal for me. Likewise because of the extent of my experience, switching to any setting between bare metal hardware, cloud instance based, and containerised settings with various kinds of orchestration and service discovery/mesh and various service providers are no big deal either. This also means that my skillset lends itself to enabling your organisation to migrate from one setting to another easily. It has also given me an excellent high level view into the best practises that should be deployed alongside each architecture and how best to avoid the pitfalls of them. I have worked with numerous different configuration management systems in my time, so a change of dialect there is no problem either. In fact I once got a job based on a technical test in Ansible, having had no prior experience of Ansible at all, I just learned it as I went in the interview process. I have also worked in numerous programming languages in my time, and they too feel like a change of dialect and not a big deal to work with a different language. Therefore I feel very strongly that if you read my CV and do not find an exact match for the required skills in my most recent employment this should not be viewed as especially problematic, because I can think on my feet and switch dialect easily, and my lengthy experience with Linux renders me able to do so in a Linux-based setting without expending a great deal of time and effort to do so. I think this comes so naturally having learned fluent German, because once you have learned a second language there, the same skillset applies to technical areas as well. Lastly, to cover off all of the basic questions I keep getting: • I am available for immediate start. • I am white british, and require no sponsorship to work in the UK. • I have active SC clearance until some time in 2026, sponsored by HMPO. • I am no position to be fussy whether my income comes from permanent or contract at this time. Contract roles outside IR35 are preferred however. • My desired pay rates are in my CV. I recognise that the job market is a little shaky at present, and am prepared to negotiate on those. • Ore Networks Limited is my own existing company to facilitate outside IR35 contracting and other ventures, including its own bare metal hosted private cloud etc.
