Hello, my name is Abhijeet Chaudhuri, and I am currently working as a DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer at RoboMQ Pvt. Ltd. Since 2019, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects, honing my skills in automation, infrastructure management, and system resilience. Key Contributions: At RoboMQ, I’ve been instrumental in transforming deployment workflows by migrating manual processes to a GitOps pipeline using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Helm. This not only increased developer productivity by over 20% but also enabled zero-downtime deployments, significantly improving our release efficiency. To ensure high availability and disaster recovery, I replicated the company’s infrastructure to establish a Disaster Recovery (DR) environment. Using Kubernetes, Kops, and Terraform on AWS, we achieved a 50% reduction in potential downtime and brought our Recovery Time Objective (RTO) down to under two hours. I also consolidated Kubernetes resources into Helm charts, enabling one-click deployments. This streamlined our deployment processes, cutting deployment time by 30% and minimizing errors. To secure access to critical resources, I set up client VPN endpoints with SAML-based authentication through Azure Entra ID and managed AWS Site-to-Site VPN connections for seamless organization-to-customer connectivity. I’ve also contributed to device management and security by implementing Mobile Device Management (MDM) through Microsoft Intune. This included onboarding all company devices, enforcing data protection policies, integrating Microsoft Defender, and enabling work profiles on personal devices to balance security and usability. Monitoring and Alerting Enhancements: For system monitoring, I configured Prometheus alerts using PromQL and integrated them with Teams via Alertmanager. This enabled real-time notifications for critical issues, reducing incident response times by 20%. In addition, I developed a Python-based health check for RabbitMQ that integrates with Teams. This provides real-time production alerts and includes a remote silencing feature for managing scheduled downtimes effectively. I also created a dedicated Kibana tenant for the Customer Success team, granting log access across production clusters and setting up targeted alerts for Teams notifications. Major Projects: One of the key projects I led was the design of a Highly Available and Scalable Linux-Based SFTP Cluster using AWS services such as EC2, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), and Elastic File System (EFS). By leveraging Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) and pam-extrausers, we ensured consistent user authentication across instances. The architecture eliminated single points of failure and enabled horizontal scaling and high availability. Another notable project involved building custom Grafana dashboards. I developed a personalized Grafana UI with tailored icons and integrated it with various data sources like Prometheus, ElasticSearch, and multiple exporters. The dashboards included: A Kubernetes Cluster Analysis Dashboard for monitoring cluster performance, A Broker Analysis Dashboard for RabbitMQ resource insights, A Logs Dashboard integrating Kibana for streamlined troubleshooting, and An Alarm Dashboard for centralized alert management. In addition to these technical contributions, I’ve also been an integral part of production support, ensuring seamless system monitoring and prompt resolution of incidents through an on-call rotation. These experiences have not only sharpened my technical expertise but also taught me the importance of collaboration, automation, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
