As a DevOps Engineer, my journey has been a fusion of curiosity, hands-on grit, and an obsession with building reliable, scalable systems. I started out in traditional IT, managing infrastructure and systems for financial institutions. But the first time I containerized an app with Docker and automated its deployment with Jenkins, I was hooked. The speed, consistency, and elegance of DevOps workflows lit a fire in me. One of my proudest moments was leading the CI/CD pipeline implementation for a SACCO mobile app project. From scratch, I built a Jenkins pipeline that automated testing, Dockerized the app, and deployed it to Render, integrating Slack notifications and GitHub webhooks. Watching deployments go from hours to minutes – error-free – proved the power of automation. Recently, I dove deep into Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform, orchestrating entire environments on virtualized infrastructure and learning how to scale reproducibility. I’m also exploring Kubernetes for orchestration and expanding my skills in cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure. I’m not just a script-and-go DevOps engineer. I bring strategic ICT experience, project management skills, and a relentless focus on aligning DevOps practices with business goals. Whether it's reducing downtime, tightening security, or shortening release cycles, I always ask: “How does this drive value?” I thrive in environments where automation, collaboration, and innovation intersect.
