I started out as a teen working on BBS systems, slowly moving into working on projects in linux and web design. My first "devops" type job was working as a systems engineer at a startup designing clusters for medical imaging. I worked on tools Automating building clusters and updating them on different stacks. Also worked on automating software builds. My second startup I build a automation framework to build software on multiple architectures (aix, linux, hpux, and windows) in a stable and fast way. and went on to convert App stack to a sevice oriented archictechure with microservices instead of large apps. I then setup "Devops" shops at two other companies trying to promote devops as a culture instead of just as a job title. Currently I am Leading a team on digital transformation project. Started out picking cloud vendor to move to and creating a DataEngineering group anchored by devops principles and now working on transforming application teams.
