I've been a programmer for most of my career. I was introduced to Linux in 1989. Started programming in C then Perl, Shell scripting and the last five six years Python. In my current role I help keep servers running in AWS. Most of these servers are running Splunk. With my experience as a programmer I have been able to create custom automated tools that have saved companies countless hours and expense. I remember one of my previous managers asking me not to automate some parts of my job because he feared that I would automate our department out of work.
